A residence application can involve three separate checks: the Medical Commission examination, fingerprints, and a police clearance or good-conduct certificate. They are not interchangeable, and not every person needs every step.

Quick answer: The official residence medical examination costs QAR 100. A police clearance certificate applied for inside Qatar costs QAR 10. Follow the visa or residence application instructions to learn whether fingerprints or a PCC are required in your case.

Residence medical examination

The Ministry of Public Health service covers medical examinations for issuing residence permits and certain visa extensions, sponsor changes or return cases. The official service says the examination costs QAR 100, fasting is not required, applicants should attend as soon as possible after entry, and the stated service time is about six days.

The standard residence screening commonly includes a blood test and chest X-ray. The authority can request additional checks depending on the applicant and purpose.

Medical-test steps

  1. Check whether the examination was completed at a Qatar Visa Center before travel or is required in Qatar.
  2. Take the passport, visa and other documents requested for the appointment.
  3. Pay only through the official service.
  4. Complete the tests directed by the Medical Commission.
  5. Track the result through the official channel used for the application.
  6. If the result is not cleared, follow the authority's referral or review instruction.

Do not confuse this with a health card, which provides access to subsidized public healthcare and is a separate service.

Fingerprints

First-time adult residence applicants and other identified categories may be directed to fingerprint registration after the medical result. Take the original identification documents named in the application. The visa or Metrash instruction decides whether this step applies.

Police clearance certificate (PCC)

The MOI calls this a conduct certificate. Applications can be made through designated official routes, including Metrash for eligible residents and routes for applicants outside Qatar. The official fee for an application inside Qatar is QAR 10.

Documents can include a request letter, current and previous passport copies covering the Qatar residence period, attested fingerprints for an overseas application, and passport photographs. The exact list depends on where you apply and why the certificate is needed.

Use the Qatar police clearance service guide for the correct route.
